What are the system requirements to use noteCounselor?

noteCounselorweb is an online application that is accessible from any computer or mobile device. No special software is required. You do not need to install noteCounselorweb onto your computer.

Is noteCounselor FERPA compliant?

Yes. noteCounselorweb is a sole possession note taking system. They are not a part of a student's educational record. It is a memory aide to increase your effectiveness. You are in control of how brief or how detailed your counseling notes are.

What security features are included with noteCounselorweb?

noteCounselorweb is protected with an SSL Certificate. All information that is transmitted to and from noteCounselorweb is encrypted to keep third parties from seeing your information.
noteCouselorweb is scanned every day to check for hackers, malware and spyware. This ensures that no one will be able to view your information or infect your computer.
noteCounselorweb is located on a secure virtual private server that is regularly backed up. noteCounselorweb does not share server space or network space. In addition, you can export your notes into a table at any time. This will allow you to keep your own back-ups as well.

How do I subscribe to noteCounselorweb?

Visit the noteCounselorweb app at https://www.notecounselorweb.com. Sign up on the right side on the page. This will begin your free month trial of noteCounselorweb. After your free month, you will be prompted to pay for your subscription via PayPal's secure site.
You can also submit a purchase order for your convenience. You can email a Purchase Order to mandy@notecounselor.com.

How do I renew my subscription?

The easiest way to renew a single subscription is through PayPal. On the day after your last paid subscription, you will be redirected to a secure PayPal transaction site where you can renew with a credit card. You do not need to use a PayPal account to use this service. Alternatively, you can renew with a Purchase Order. Please email purchase orders to mandy@notecounselor.com. Be sure to include the names and email addresses of any accounts that need to be renewed.

Will my data be lost if there is a lapse in my subscription?

No. All of your data will remain safe even if there is a lapse in your subscription.Your username, password and data will remain the same if there is a lapse in your subscription. Your data will not be lost. Your subscription will pick up where you last left it.

What is the best way to record classroom guidance activities?

Many counselors find it useful to create a student name that represents an entire classroom. For example, you may have a 'student' names “Ms. Chamber's first class.”

Can I share an account with my colleagues?

No. noteCounselorweb licences are strictly for one user. This maintains FERPA compliance.

What if I take a job at a new school?

You can take your account with you. Under your profile information, change the email address associated with your account to your new email address. This will update the email address that you use to login to your account.
